War Master has "What Dwells Within" so it has an unfair advantage over other Bolt Thrower albums. That is a GOAT death metal song. But Those Once Loyal needs greater attention. It's like Bolt Thrower knew they were at the end and wanted to go out doing everything they do the absolute best they've ever done it. Some of the most memorable riffs from any metal band ever on that album.

Huh. Nice. I was always under the impression that Realm of Chaos, War Master, and The IVth Crusade got the lion's share of the love.

Among old***s probably but I think Those Once Loyal got big cause it came about during both the alt metal craze and a death metal revival period. Also it being their last album probably has something to do with it.

I guess I also both remember when it was the new album and don't particularly keep up on the metal zeitgeist.

idk Korn and Deftones were still scoring big and Nickelback was in full swing, thus the "alt metal (and nu metal) craze". Old-school revivalism saw a resurgence in opposition to nu metal. Death Angel for instance came back after a two and a half decade long hiatus around the same time as well.
