Good band, haven't heard them in a while. One of those many great metal bands from the early 90's that seemed to have a brief blip of success in the scene and then just disappeared off the map. It's a shame, as many of those bands were really unique.

Have you heard their debut? I think that one's even better.

I hear Lord Wyrm left Cryptopsy after None So Vile cause he didn't like the more "experimental" direction they wanted to go in and while they have their moments after that album Wyrm was clearly 100% correct cause Cryptopsy are not and never will be Gorguts. And trying to combine more abstract BDM with deathcore didn't help anything at all. If the band had just broken up after two albums, or maybe just recorded Whisper Supremacy, or skipped And Then You Will Beg and ended on Once Was Not, then they would have had a solid enough legacy for me to call them the best DM band ever, but Jesus Christ did they **** on their own legend.

But holy ****ing shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!!

Honestly, it's up there in my books as one of the best metal debuts of all time. Kill Em All is everything that thrash metal is about, and its ferocity and youthful ****itness still gets me hype. It is truly a fantastic album.

^It definitely is.

Now:

Industrial metal album I've had for a while but never listened to in full. Sounds decent so far, but it's nowhere near as good as their second album There's Beauty in the Purity of Sadness.

Isn't it technically the first thrash album ever?

^Pretty sure it is, can't think of an album prior that I'd call thrash. First thrash song however, goes to this hidden gem from the 70's:

Now playing:
