I don't think that power metal has ever been so mature and so cheesy at the same time.

Yeah, as much as I love Manowar, "mature" is not a word I would use to describe them. But, hail and kill anyways, dude.

Quite liking Hacktivist even though it's an obvious hybrid:


Not bad for just one guy in the band although it does get all a bit Dream Theater for me at times:

If you like Chimp Spanner you should check out Animals As Leaders. They are also instrumental, but slightly more technical.

Yeah a couple of people have mentioned them recently so I checked out the vid and undecided. There was a little too much soloing for me which isn't always my cup of tea but I liked the Electronic phases. More investigation needed.

There's been plenty of amazing extreme metal over the years, but I don't think that anyone has ever bettered these guys (or Bathory for that matter).
