Budgie - "I Can't See My Feelings"
I listened to one song by Budgie and hated it, but I felt this one was pretty good because of the low bass/guitar chords. They pleased me so I didn't mind hearing them again and again in the song. Budgie - I Can't See My Feelings - YouTube

I'm hooked. I overlooked the Red Chord, mistakenly thinking of them as just another simple deathcore band, but these guys are much more progressive.
I checked out more deathcore bands, and found the Contortionists, but they're not straightforward deathcore either. So much for labels.

Say what you want about Motley Crue's later albums, but Shout at the Devil is one of the best metal albums of all time. Great riffs, Vince Neil's vocals had an edge that they lost by the next album, and a dark and nihilistic atmosphere that just kicks ass.

^ Hell yes! They only had a couple good singles after that one. Finally got into W.A.S.P.
