God this album is like sex. It goes left field with the best experimental metal bands, but still isn't afraid to throw down a good riff or three.
Sigh - A Sunset Song |
^That band's insanely good. There's not a genre they don't cover.
This has become kind of a personal anthem for me. I love the how you can understand the humorous lyrics. (wtf, there's no horn up symbol ;( |

Samael started out as a black metal band, but this album actually was the bridge album from black metal to industrial metal, but it's best qualities are the simple, yet devastating riffs that they churn out seemingly at will. If Pantera had sounded like this, I might still give a **** about them. If you're looking for necro, seek elsewhere, but if you want one of the most monstrously awesome riffs you've ever heard in your life then this song will eat your children while you watch.

I am currently listening to Rush
Currently I am listening to Red Sector A by Rush. Always seem to come back to the good ole Rush.

Great power ballad. Classic slow acoustic opening, building towards a heavier more complex middle section. Love how the electric guitars come crushing in. The story is about a warrior up against a hostile world ready to crush him like a tin can. I'm not a warrior, but I can relate.
