Oh man, who needs caffeine when you have ass-kicking Polish stoner metal like Satellite Beaver?

Midnight are epic, for sure. I love their grime. The new album is cleaner, but still pretty ****ing good.

Other bands doing the whole 1st wave of black metal redux sound I'd recommend are Children of Technology, Bludwulf, Barbatos, & Dishammer.

^ Yeah, grime that's a good way to describe it. Could be a new sub-genre

IMO, Discordance Axis provided the most alien form of grindcore. I can't really explain it, other than saying is it's Discordance Axis being Discordance Axis.

I think Jon Chang is the only DA member involved, but regardless GL are fantastic.

Yep. Here's their entire first album:

First time I sat through a whole album on Youtube! Pretty intense, but I miss the guttural vocals and sludgy parts that gave Inalienable Dreamless a bit more pacing. Gridlink is a much more technical animal, there's even little bits of melody here and there.

Gotta love Overkill. Still kickin' after all these years.
