It’s a good idea to read other’s comments before coming to unjustified conclusions. I’ve written on MB enough times that rigid categorisation of genres is not only pointless but implies a peculiar form of musical puritanism should be practiced by musicians themselves. OK, we can accept there might be such a thing as ‘pure’ forms of music but most musicians today refuse to pay attention to such rules. Granted someone like Leadbelly can be easily slotted into a category but why the hysteria about this whole issue?
If you’d paid any attention to my posts you’d have encountered my “I don’t know where else to put this” comments.
Now can we just return to the music and put aside this silly debate?

And where did you get this ‘Aryan’ stuff from? My ancestry is a mix of Welsh, Spanish Jew with a sprinkling of Australian aborigine.

No it hasn't escaped me that your contribution to each thread starts with an unspeakably tedious "ooh but is this the right place to put it?... I guess I'm going to post it here..." type of fuss and you always do stuff like post 90s R&B in the metal thread.

Is this the senile, pretentious version of claiming to be 1/64th Cherokee?

Clearly he saw Ayn Rand and either mistook the spelling or decided to use it as a basis for calling you Aryan. Also, I guess he don't like you much.

Ain't nobody can find fault with THIS riff though. As someone here who has a vague connection to flying rodents would say, it slays.

Is this the most savage metal album of the 80s? Quite possibly. That rhythm section is completely unrelenting though. The front and center mixing of the bass guitar gives it an evil Motorhead vibe I think more grindcore bands could learn from.

The best thrash album of the last decade is also a metalcore album (think Ringworm rather than Killswitch Engage) and it Slayers just as hard as it breaks down.

The first track sounds like the best of metal to me but the level of distortion is a worry.
I may take the plunge and download a high definition (claimed) version of a few tracks to see what they really are capable of. Fingers crossed.

My fav Lamb of God album. They have an innate understanding of how to make you bang your head and even if they weren't accomplished songwriters at this point this album suggests that banging your head might be more important.
