Megadeth's first album is drenched in Dave Mustaine's narcissistic rage at his first band dumping him and becoming the most prominent band in the scene and just hating all of it like the dude from The Fountainhead blowing up the building he'd helped create and it's simply impossible to recreate that level of incoherent McVeigh rage which is why it's their best album and the angriest metal album of all time.

Not as perfect as their last album from eight years ago but it still slams and it's good to know Katalepsy haven't quit.

I'd buy an album of these.

It's been a few years since I listened to this and it's even more perfect than I remember.

Also this is an underrated gem. **** yeah Metal Church!

Metal Church's debut definitely slaps.

There's something uniquely perfect about it. They never had the hitmaking ability of Maiden or Priest but they had down the meat and potatoes of metal by pure instinct with a level of mood and theatricality that could even put Mercyful Fate to shame at times.

Like it saddens me that as good as their second album is, the band who recorded "Beyond the Black" and "Metal Church" never had anything even approaching their epic scope for the entirety of their career.

I haven't listened to much Metal Church past Blessing In Disguise, so I don't know how much they've fallen off the wagon at this point lol.

Their modern albums aren't great to say the least but you should absolutely check out The Human Factor, the followup to Blessing in Disguise. It slaps pretty hard even if it isnt a patch on the debut. It's the second best of their early albums afaic.
