this album's so savage

Something about these corny times reminds me of 1988 which reminds me of this Ozzy album that I somehow like

^ Underrated Ozzy album.
Today's Easter, so I decided to jam my favorite Christian metal concept record. Lance King is an amazing singer, very much in the Tate / Dickinson / Halford school. |

Speaking of late 80s metal cheese that is somehow good, I also have a fixation on Cold Lake by Celtic Frost and I recently watched this whole concert from that era. They play their other songs that people actually like here too, and I think it's a cool incarnation of the band: |

metal album of the year

There's some legit likable riffs and writing on Down III but it's still dad sludge and Phil Anselmo is at his most irrelevant. This is about as good as the album gets.
|
This however is not god damn dad sludge. This is bombass sludge. I also like how the singer kind of evokes some Danzig wickedness even if he's no Danzig or even trying to sound like Danzig.
|
Am I wrong in saying that this song has no actual songwriting and is just a bunch of random **** spliced together and that makes it sound worse but conceptually makes it more delightful and defines the internet age before it existed both for that and its lyrics?
