Night Of The Stormrider isn't a classic?

And to be fair I think the first singer, Gene Adam, did pretty good on the self-titled in 1990.

Night of the Stormrider would be way better with a better singer. Whatever his name is was competent but not good enough to be in a band like Iced Earth who required more competent drama. And dear god the singer on the debut was awful and shouldn't sing on anything.

I'm not saying Annihilator are underappreciated storytellers but that one song is a great little creepy tale I'll always remember.

The first two albums had some fun stuff on them. Not sure why they moved into such a generic commercial direction only a few years after this.

I think a bunch of 80s 30-something metal nerds just didn't understand they weren't on the right wavelength to stay relevant once grunge hit. I think Dark Angel might have been able to pull of a bizzaro Alice in Chains-esque about face that could have been alright though. At least we'd have another Dark Angel album to talk about.
