^I've known about that band for a long time, but the gimmick is so dumb that I've never bothered giving them a chance.

You guessed right.

Thy Catafalque sometimes sound a bit like if Deep Forest decided to make black metal. If that's experimental, then so is Limp Bizkit or any other band with a mildly novel sound.

Also, related to that, I grew tired of that new album disappointingly fast. The Catafalque album. Not the Biscuit. Not that there is a new soggy cracker album.
Ja I agree that they have some crossover elements but they're not particularly experimental, plus they also suck.

Yeah, I thought it was funny when they first came out, but I've never really wanted to listen to them again since. You can definitely tell that they put gimmick over music.

I wouldn't personally say Thy Catafalque outright sucks. But considering how there's obviously some creativity there, the actual results are underwhelming.

Metallica being better than when they're being themselves:

Trying to give Tool yet another chance and I still don't really feel it. Remarkably boring band for how great they're supposed to be?

Also giving Opeth another chance for the 117th time. I'm not not enjoying this, but it's not amazing either.

The only people claiming that they're anything more than an average rock band with a distinct sound are basic bitches who have only ever heard radio artists.

This is mostly great 80's power metal, but 'Love Games' is too 80's for its own good and sounds like a rejected Europe song circa The Final Countdown.

I've always preferred APC because they own up to being straight alt rock as opposed to the wishy-washy pseudo math metal mumbo jumbo that much of Tool is.
