Certain songs do go hard as a bitch in a way that makes them sound more of chaotic early black metal than death metal. I think if they didn't have a song called "Death Metal" they'd be considered black metal or just thrash rather than death metal. They really sound nothing like what was ever considered death metal at any period of death metal.

Realm of Chaos by Bolt Thrower

I though this was considered a classic but wiki doesn’t say much about it

What say you, Bat?

Bolt Thrower got the mad riffs but I don't got the sound system to bring them to life. Their production is quiet as hell and I need something with more punch to make that **** thump. The loudness wars passed Bolt Thrower the **** by. Which is really ****ing disappointing as Bolt Thrower really should ****ing thump. Bolt Thrower are not for headphones music fans. Get you some real speakers and a subwoofer and that **** will rock your world.

Interesting. I use headphones basically all the time. On the rare occasions that I ever see live shows these days it’s always surprising how you can feel it in your whole body.

Yeah Bolt Thrower are great but I have to imagine how loud they'd be optimally. This right here is a top ten death metal song but it's too quiet so you have to make Bolt Thrower allowances. I don't know about you but I like my music to be as loud as ****ing possible to the point that I'd need to turn it down to be able to listen to it.

OMG though those riffs are basically the definition of Satanic gnarly as regards to death metal. Even Bolt Thrower couldn't approach that perfection twice.

Wait though have you heard their final album? Cause it's legit possibly their best, with some of the most fire riffs every recorded. I would prefer to kill enemy soldiers to Bolt Throwers last album with explosive tracer rounds.

The main riff has literally been my ringtone for years and it's just the most fun death metal song ever for both plebs and cool people.
