Couldn't develop an appreciation for the longest time, too. The only thing I liked was Dark 2.9, which I still think is a brilliant piece of dark ambient music. I started enjoying more of their work when I began seeing more of 2.9 in everything else.

Definitely their most commercial album, but it has a lot of swagger so the AOR elements work more often than not.

On mobile so I don’t have a convenient way to link YouTube, but this Bog Body EP is one of my favorite metal releases in the year. It’s disgusting, raw, and primitive. I’m not 100% sure what genre it fits into, but it has elements of cavernous death metal, black metal, industrial, and doom. It crushes, whatever it is. |
