^St. Anger really isn't that bad an album. If it was cut down a bit in length, and the drums sounded better I'd even say it's great. I loved Hardwired though, so I'd say that album is the best they've done in the current millennium.

Some of the most oddball thrash riffs ever. Stately yet playful but still quintessentially metal in a way that no amount of testosterone can fake.

Decided to listen through all of the 2013 self titled Dream Theater album.

Although I have the feeling that I sort of like it only because it is basically a neutered version of the band's signature sound where all the edges have been filed off. It seems like a very unfortunate reason to get along with an album from a band you usually dislike quite a bit. |
