Testament - The Ritual

Had no idea Poobah had a new album out, just found out today. Sounds pretty good, I like that they keep somewhat consistently making music despite the fact that they remain so obscure.

People need to know about one of the most savagely fun thrash albums of the new millennium. Tankard come absolutely correct on this.

It's been a while since I listened to this album and I didn't remember just how good it was. It's got some of that same beat that Terrorizer had that just makes me want to boogie. I guess it's a crust punk thing or something.

This one somehow reminds me of Nirvana at their dirtiest.

Beautiful. This should be the national anthem of Dontgivea****istan.

That's a durn good album and needs more love from sludge fans.

For the past week I've been trying to narrow down a top 50 thrash list and it's been far harder than other lists. Now I'm just going through just about everything to see what absolutely needs to be on my list and I think this is one of them. Death thrash is great in general but techy death thrash needs more 1st rate bands like this. Those riffs slay and have textures that feel delightfully malevolent.

"Delightfully Malevolent".

Dibs on that band name!

Favorite song from that album, it's raw and dirty thrash at it's finest. I also love how every album from them sounds vastly different. Turn Back Trilobite, their last album, is pretty much a full blown doom metal album with some thrash riffs.
