Still putting out decent-to-good albums, but I really feel like MERIT must have written the lyrics for the songs on their last album.

^I thought Dystopia was their best album since Countdown to Extinction. The hooks and melodies on that album are some of Megadeth's best in years, and I personally love the lyrics. Say what you will, but Mustaine is an excellent songwriter. This opening bassline screams classic Megadeth:

Currently listening to:

The best Queensryche album, and still one of the most unique albums I've ever heard. I'm probably talking about atmosphere too much in this thread, but this album ****ing nails the cold, apocalyptic, and futuristic sound.

I've basically liked their 4 last albums quite a bit. I feel like people judged Super Collider mostly on the sub-par single, but there was some pretty cool songs on that album imo

Dystopia has grown on me a lot. I didn't like it much in the beginning, actually, but it does have a lot of memorable songs and they're more different from each other than I expected.

Arch. Enemy. Suck. At the very least with Gossow they've always been overproduced, sterile, and just ****ing lame. Like I imagine what Carcass would have sounded like if Swansong had never been recorded and Michael Amott had replaced all the other members of the band who remember being in a grindcore band so he could write a bunch of nifty weedly weedly bull**** with the simulation of balls. Cause that's what Arch Enemy is.

Ehhh... I'm not gonna put too much energy into defending the band, but I definitely think Carcass is boring trash with or without Amott.
Arch Enemy before Angela was a 4/10 band.
Arch Enemy with Angela was a 6/10 band.
Arch Enemy with Alyssa is a 7.5/10 band.

I've got endless hot takes to make metalheads hate me. Guess there's another thread for that.

Bruh not even Heartwork? What about At the Gates? They're definitely more expressive and Slaughter of the Soul is god-tier.

Okay, I love Doomsday Machine, but I'll never try and say that Arch Enemy was ever better than Carcass. Necroticism is one of the holy classics of death metal:
