Since this place is dead, I'll try to inject some life into it.

Altars is far and away my fav. death metal album. There's one thing this album holds above other death metal albums, and that's a multi-dimensional, evil-as-**** atmosphere.

Bruh, what about Obituary? Or Obliteration? Or diSEMBOWELMENT?

There are other death metal albums that are certainly more violent and evil, but Altars is evil in a way that is disturbing and haunting more than anything else.

The violence sounds a lot more raw and demonic as well. Feels more like you're being chased by a monster rather than a serial killer.

I just prefer the sound I guess.

Who needs subtlety or innovation when you have pure savagery? **** the thrash revival, this is where Slayer riffs belonged in the new millennium.

Bit o' Edge Of Sanity feel there at times. Me likey.

Also, these guys are a lot of fun. USPM from Germany with some speed and prog influences. The guitarist is a ****ing beast.
