This album is for those who don't know how 80s metal fun could have disappeared in the 90s. I mean it did, but Iced Earth didn't notice. There's a reason why apparently the band appeared on Kerrang's cover more than other band ever. This song is beyond the metal **** though.

Musically I love Slayer more than this, but Slayer (and most metal in general) doesn't express the same emotions that Unbroken do. If you want to know what's going on just underneath the surface of my mind at just about any moment -- the rage, the desperation, the misanthropy, the yearning to destroy yourself as you destroy the world -- then just turn this on and you've got me pegged. At this point in my life this isn't even cathartic, it's just one of the only ways to tap into my actual emotions and not just feel bland.
|
But often times I want all of the violence seething within my mind with none of the existential crises involved, and that is when I seek out Ringworm. That is when I seek out something to speak to my anger but without the internal misery. The fun of hate if you will. It's two sides of the same coin but one is less mentally and emotionally taxing.

soooooo Sleep dropped their new album, like out of the blue.

A bit of a redheaded stepchild of their 80's albums but it's still a gem of a hard rock record, and this track right here is an absolute classic Priest track.

But despite what anyone says, the A side is flawless, no real Priest fan would dispute this. |
Newest metal album I've bought.
Jinjer - Cloud Factory I think it's great, pretty much. |
As much as I used to love power metal I just do not care about 95% of it anymore, so thank god Children of Bodom dropped all that dull ****e by Hate Crew Deathroll and stumbled on a melodeath/cock rock hybrid that slays, spits in your wife's mouth, and is all the fun all the time. Probably the only "unassailable" CoB album but it's a doozy.
