I always forget that I actually dig this album. When you first turn it on it's okay, but slowly grows on you till you realize you're all about it. It's like Voivod weren't so up their own ass and actually let themselves sound wild and fun.

I always come back to this one song. It's so over the top vocally, but I love it.

Plus I definitely see the Voivod comparison. Later albums by them didn't really sound like that anymore though.

There is absolutely no end to the amount of awesome vegan straight edge metalcore bands from the late 90s/early 00s.

Been learning some stuff from watching Samus' playthrough's recently;



As a result this is all the metal I've been listening to for a couple of weeks.

I'm trying to give it a listen again but Labrie is like nails on chalkboard to me. I'm not really fond of Petrucci's lead guitar playing either. And whenever they decide to do a ballad... *ugh*
