I'm kinda pissed at myself that I played this album over and over and over again for like a year until it lost part its impact, but I still come back to it a lot for short bursts. Here's hoping that in ten years I won't have abandoned it and will have reconciled my overplaying it to reach a new level of metalcore nirvana. "From Heaven We Fall" is still one of the sickest openers of any album ever though.

As much as I've liked Suffocation over the years, my newfound love of Cryptopsy has kind of made me see them as their cool but inferior little brother. Nah. I can respect Gorguts' mad ****, but Cryptopsy perfected death metal riffs in a way that is awe inspiring. More traditional, yes, but also stupefying.
