^ Friggin great.
On another note, recommendation for Batty here based on our shared appreciation of Empire by Queensryche. Very similar vibe: this particular album is a mid-90's metal gem. |
Thrashy beatdown metalcore is the gift that keeps on giving and I don't give a **** how much all the bands sound like each other. Give me a million more and I'll still eat that **** up. And that is an awesome terrible metal cover.
This album is one of the greatest joys of extreme metal.
Yes indeedy do.
Lombardo's drumming on this might be some of the greatest ever.
He's easily in the top 5 of all time. Just a downright god. Imagine if all of the faster dudes that rip him off tried to be as interesting?
There are so many drummers following after Lombardo's style who don't own his sense of groove.
I understand that Death are associated with death metal, and that Scream Bloody Gore is obviously a death metal album, but it's also stone cold thrash metal and should be allowed to kick the **** out of any given 80s Sepultura album in a top thrash album list.
Death definetely took a slide from something that felt more like thrash, to something that felt more like tech-death.
