These riffs are much more to my liking now than they were when I first heard them many years ago.

The drumming on this album is basically without peer.

Cathedral - Ride

This song should groove anyone's pants off when played on a proper stereo.
Cathedral is such a fun band, and Dorian has such a unique and charismatic voice. The Ethereal Mirror is an all time favorite of mine, and "Ride" is certainly one of the best on there. My favorite is probably this though, that syncopation is incredible:

"OH YEEEAH"

No link cuz I’m lazy, but I’ve been listening to Thou’s Magus a ton lately. What a ****ing great sludge album. It’s gonna be up there fighting for AOTY for sure.

I've been a massive fan of this album since high school and as one of the relatively few albums I had at the time and at a time when I was just discovering metal it's an absolute foundational album for me that I've heard at least five million times, but it has been many years since it's been a go-to album that I've thrown on over and over again and then a day later thrown it on again and a week later I'm still throwing it on again. There aren't many albums I do that to in general so this is without a doubt a god tier album for me that I'd kill a really hot time traveler for just to make sure they didn't unrecord it. Like, they didn't even come here for that but there's a possibility that it might be a consequence of them doing something so I'd kill them just in case.

Just saw the La Torre-fronted Queensryche do a show. A couple cuts from Empire too: nailed 'em.

P.S. I really enjoyed the 2018 remaster of Killing Is My Business.

I hear it has an uncensored version of "These Boots" which is cool. I have the first remaster where half of it is hilariously bleeped out and it's chucked all the way to the back of the album. Does the new one have that pointless intro to "The Mechanix"?

The Final Kill includes a demo version of 'Mechanix' that doesn't have the intro, though its not a whole lot shorter overall or anything.

I wish Dave wasn't a complete maniac these days and would go back to making good thrash.

Killing Is My Business is such an incredible album and one of the best Megadeth's ever done. It's so close to beating Peace Sells as my favorite Megadeth album. I wish it wasn't so hard to find a reasonable priced copy of the original pressing before it was ruined with the 2002 "remaster". The rawness and pure spitting aggression is unmatched.

In fact, I would listen to it right now if I wasn't so in the mood for Cathedral:
