Decent late-period thrash.

lo-fi really brings out the weirdness in the riffs. |
Bar none the most violent death metal album I've ever heard. Proof that a slam death metal band with a dash of actual talent and decent production was always going to be the most brutal thing ever. I don't give much of a **** about slam death metal, but I've always had faith that at least one band would get the sound mother****ing right. Not as "intelligent" I guess as Cryptopsy, but **** do they **** your **** up actually harder, even if their riffs aren't as evil. If the Album Exchange continues after one round someone is getting this album. Frown, Qwerty, or Elph are my prime targets.

Oh ****! A metal album that has TWO good cover songs? Most bands can't even do one cover song right.
They didn't change much, but it is way more aggressive than the original. Also Souza fulfills his calling in life of being a Bon Scott impersonator. |
This whole album

is that the thrash metal curse
|
It's the Exodus curse. And they never lifted it till Tempo of the Damned afaic. Although that live album with Baloff from 97 was a damn good anomaly. So I guess they lifted it in 97 since that was the next release before Tempo of the Damned, but that wasn't a real album so I say it doesn't count, even if it was awesome.

but what about Tankard
