I thought that one was pretty good as well. That said, I think that Testament's first two albums have better guitar work than Metallica ever did or will have.

That's what's the most frustrating thing about Testament. Overall, I find their songs boring, but Alex Skolnick is a hell of a guitar player. I don't want to listen to a full Testament album, but I could easily listen to a compilation of all of the band's guitar solos. They're even better these days, while Hammett has lost any and all ability to play an appealing solo.

I liked his solos in the 80's and 90's. Most of all though, he was great on Ride the Lightning. All of the lead guitar playing has an amazing vibe on that album.

I definitely don't get that vibe from any of Slayer's other albums--although I've never heard Divine Intervention.
You hear the sounds of songs that came out 8 years later on Seasons? Wouldnt it be the other way around?

But saying because people who like SPAD also like Slayer, doesn't mean much to me. Influence is influence.

It's just a weird nitpick.

He has seriously become a boring singer now that he doesn't have the same range and relies too much on his hella boring growl. At least before he was an alright heavy metal singer.
