The guitar tone on this album is one of the most bad-ass things ever.

Some primitive, thuggish **** right here. Grindcore for those who like their riffs and blast beats as crusty as possible. Also great for all you old school death metal heads. Maybe the first grind album I ever liked.

Assuck go harder, but Terrorizer are way more fun. You don't have to pick one over the other, lil homie.

I don't really like grindcore tbh. Misery Index is the only thing I truly like. It's really dark and dirty, and it appeals to me for the same reason I like something like Altars of Madness.

I need to listen to more Anaal Nathrakh. I already dig The Codex Necro, but the other stuff I've skimmed didn't have quite the same unstoppable abrasiveness and so I largely ignored it. Their other **** is still hyper-dense weirdness that throws both grindcore and black metal for a loop, but with lots of extra **** thrown in to keep you interested. Certainly not a band to sit on their laurels and milk a sound. This album will keep me occupied for quite a while.

Give it time. I didn't like it almost at all for the longest, and now it's the ****.

The Boss HM-2 sound. Dismember did it pretty well. So did Entombed.

This song sums up the power of the pedal tone best to me.

Carnage also used it well too.

Terrorizer shared a member with Pete Sandoval, his drumming on "World Downfall" and "Altars of Madness" is amazing, one of my favorite drummers in extreme metal.

Also, I will put Repulsion high up on that list. One of the best raw and fun albums of all-time to me:
