Possibly the most underrated German thrash band ever.

I think I might follow suit. I just started Show No Mercy cause it's the third best muthackin Slayer album after the co-headliners of Reign in Blood and Hell Awaits. But to be honest Show No Mercy can compete when I'm feeling particularly 80s, so yeah this is def one of the best metal albums ever. It's just this perfect, honestly underappreciated early 80s metal album. It's just everything I love about 1983.

I just got up from a good (actually rather bad) night's sleep, so I'm listening to Show No Mercy now, hoping it will jolt my brain awake. I'll see how far I make it with the two next albums after this.

100%. And the next statement is, well, just wrong. I mean, AC/DC? I should get Batty to give Tom your home address....

By all means do. He seems like such a nice guy

Why do people think that Slayer, Kreator or Dark Angel are fast?

Dare we hope?

Oh, he is, he is. You know he worked in a hospital before forming Slayer? I'm sure he'll be very polite as he removes your intestines one by one with his favourite knife....

I made it halfway through Hell Awaits at most, so it doesn't look too good right now. I might try again later.

And he didn't even listen to metal before Slayer hired him. So quite the turnaround.

Just do it. It's one of the best metal albums ever in any case.

All right I tried it. Well, some of it. I got seventeen minutes in before I decided nah. It's not without its charm, but it kind of comes across as a cross between doom and death metal, maybe? You know I don't like those growly vocals - if I have to choose I think I'd rather have a screecher - and that slow, plodding, well I guess doomy tone doesn't help. I doubt this would be anything I could get into. I think - gasp! - I actually prefer the Cryptos to this, but then, that's not saying a whole lot really.

Plenty of death thrash bands are intense or heavy or brutal, but fun isn't generally what I think of. Num Skull have such energetic, fun riffs while still being all those other things that it's kind of the absolute ****.
