Laaz Rockit are barely known outside of people who actively explore the Bay Area scene. They're even less well known than Death Angel.

Eventually I realized that listening to Behind the Crooked Cross very rarely on Youtube is all the Slayer I really need.
Wrong.

It's interesting that you would equate someone from Ireland who's not that into extreme metal not knowing about one particular band as being representative of their mental state. Thanks for that little bit of prejudice and self-righteous up-yourself-ness. You ever heard of Trespass? White Spirit? Winters Reign? If you answer in the negative, are you then retarded?

Having heard all their discog, I'm forced to agree with the Frownman. You could not be more off track here, MS.

I said "barely." And you listen to thrash metal. Trollheart probably doesn't know who Dark Angel, Laaz Rockit, and Death Angel are unless he's looking for them.

Yes the **** it is. I like how you can cut their discography in half from their first two, corny, early 80s trad/early LA glam's kissing cousin metal, to after 1985 when they thrashed up, as if the rise of Slayer and Metallica forced them to evolve or die. Or at least risk getting a few piss bottles to the face, which I assume was highly plausible in San Francisco in 1986.

Before

After

They were pretty nice either way afaic.

Are you guys even being serious here? I can't tell.
Slayer is the AC/DC of thrash metal.
Of course their songs don't sound literally the same, but... close enough for the degree to which I care about the band. Ok so the very first album and Diabolus in Musica were a bit different, but how many albums do they have?

They have 12 albums and they're all great and unique except for Repentless. And World Painted Blood to a lesser extent.
