These guys are hit and miss, but there's some serious power metal gems scattered around their discography.
|
I'm totally fine with missing the gems if it means I don't have to listen to Edguy. They feel like Dragonforce if they knew how to write songs but still sucked like Dragonforce.

I love how ridiculous and self-aware Reverend Bizarre are. They only have three full-lengths, but all those albums are over an hour long and one is a two-hour-long double album. And then they got a ****load of EPs, and this one, Harbinger of Metal (best ironic name for a doom album ever) is a few seconds shorter than their first album, and half-a-minute longer than their second. It's basically their real second album. With only three albums you'd think they'd have a limited amount of material, but there's as much Reverend Bizarre out there for anybody who wants it. And Reverend Bizarre have fun with that ****.
And Harbinger of Metal has a trad doom cover of "Dunkelheit". Which clocks in at a breezy 12 minutes. Cause Reverend Bizarre ****ing rule. |
And this is one of the most righteous stoner metal tracks ever, along with like two other songs on their second album, II: Crush the Insects *headbang emoticon*

Trip-trip-triple post. Honestly Pleasure to Kill a lot of times feels like the 1986 answer to Show No Mercy. It's cool as ****, but Show No Mercy honestly has it beat for raw metal primitivism, sick riffs, and Tom ****ing Araya. You heard it here: Show No Mercy > Pleasure to Kill.
