I'd say Steve just might be cooler then Chuck, but Chuck goes a little hard on himself at times with the self deprecation.

At least I'm cooler than Chula. I couldn't deal with that.

Some nice-but-not-brilliant blackened death thrash with a heavy debt to Kreator. They got some bitchin' riffs thrown in all over the place, but the ultra-thin production does it no favors. Currently downloading some newer Necrodeath (best name ever) albums to see if they ever managed to beef up their sound.

Update: they did. Still not top shelf, but quite satisfying nonetheless. The band matured in the two decades between these two albums, and there's less of the raw, early extreme thrash thing going on, but the riffs are as badass, and they manage to do mid-paced, modern thrash without resorting to Pantera-isms. I imagine I'll be coming back to this for a bit.

I don't mean this to come off in a dickish way, but I think it's pretty funny how you phrased this. It's like saying, 'if you like death metal, you should check out Morbid Angel'.

Phobia are a tentpole, A TENTPOLE!

More tentpole grindcore, and probably my favorite overall song in the genre,

Yeah, I know Phobia are pretty big ****, but I still don't see a lot of people talking about them. Like, they're not old enough to get the recognition of formative bands like Napalm Death or Carcass, and they're not "advanced" enough in modern grind to get the attention of bands like Pig Destroyer or Gridlink.

Their first album is more extreme than early Kreator's stuff.
