They came before Gamma Ray so I guess Gamma Ray sounds like Sanctuary. And I was considering giving Nevermore another shot as well, but I kinda don't wanna cause they're Nevermore.

Bolt Thrower (in case you didn't make the connection) covering Ringworm. Not really deathcore even with the brutal grooves and breakdowns. Much closer to death metal.

After playing some hopscotch with Riot's albums -- first Thundersteel, then Fire Down Under, then one of their new ones, and now their debut -- I feel confident in proclaiming them to be awesome. From power metal to heavy metal to 70s hard rock/metal, they can rule in any number of melodic metal genres. Their early **** is also about the most fun you can have with metal. Pretty much bottled energy and sweat. No idea why their old mascot was some dude with the head of a baby seal though.
