https://aerakra.bandcamp.com/album/ferne-tage you could probably imagine how badly I wanted to come in here and talk about this black metalcore hybrid being sicker than rural Africa, but that would unfortunately not be true. Number one, it doesn't really go the way I'd like it to in the first place, and number two it still had a lotta room for improvement even then. It could be hella boss, but it often drags on phrases that also happen to be the least interesting parts of the music, where all the slaying moments come and go before I can even start masturbating to them.
It's also post rock as **** in a boring way, and melodic -core as **** in a gay way. You could compare it to Oathbreaker probably, but they cut all the coolness to leave us with the lame aspects for the most part. It's like a 6/10 or something. Though you can count on each song having at least one cool riff and/or breakdown. I guess I'll listen to their other release |

Like this? Not the most 'blackened' of their songs, but the video is fun.

Been sleeping on The Sound of Perseverance for years. The **** was I thinking? Chuck Schuldiner's lead guitar is sex in the mouth.

It's been forever since I listened to these guys, but I just had to listen to this whole album again after mentioning it. Heavy on the late-90s metalcore, with lots of raw black metal touches to give it extra bite. I kinda wish they'd have gone with a more of a black metal aesthetic, thrown in a few more straight up black metal moments, but when it's this heavy I'm not gonna complain.
