Not really. Trivium are masters at poseur thrash(ish) metalcore. Sylosis just sound like any ol' poseurcore band with a modicum of talent. You're just trying too hard.

I take it you didn't get on that listen

Unless they're just the coolest generic posercore band, in that case they do a great job not sounding like it that much. Now I like them even more. Props for making posercore that sounds just like thrash/progressive death metal stuff with a prevalent dose of core

Why can't more posercore sound like awesome metal

What listen? Sylosis? I'm not saying Trivium are the best band in the universe, but they do what they do well. Sylosis sound like moderately talented dudes who haven't sold their souls to the extent that some bands have, but like, they sound like a very minor footnote. Trivium at least have the talent to be a relatively big, if negative footnote.

That's a lotta words just to say you haven't checked em out.

I mean, saying they sound like any other generic posercore band is quite literally false, that's not even up for debate. Unless those "posercore" bands are all of a sudden playing tight music that I'm unaware of.
