They gave me slightly more respect for the band, as they give the impression that Emmure weren't taking the entire idea of Emmure too seriously.

Another band that no-one took seriously that suddenly got fantastic out of nowhere. Went from straight up scene kids to djenting deathcore wonders.

Bleh. What I've heard of djent has made me want to listen to none of it. Just an attempt to make a ****ty genre sound smarter by making it more complex, without actually considering whether adding complexity or experimentation to deathcore was actually a good idea. A lot of bad music has been created by adding complexity for complexity's sake, and djent and progressive deathcore are perfect examples of this. I legitimately would rather listen to early Bring Me the Horizon and Despised Icon than The Contortionist. At least they're fun.

I just so happened to once again try to listen to an Animals As Leaders album just now and gave up after 30 seconds. Abasi is an amazing guitarist, but those djent riffs are so lame and boring and overall terrible sounding.

Here's the best deathcore song ever recorded (I'm drunk so this may be subject to change but it's still ****ing awesome). And that's not just death by faint praise. If you don't like this then you can just delete the entire genre from your brain.

I'm confused.
Deathcore = djent?

Also: Way ahead of you.
