Listening to Blood, Fire, Death for the first time in a while, and damn, I never realized how much music here was lifted almost directly from Kreator's Pleasure to Kill.

Alright though, I'm not calling it a ripoff by any means, BFD is still awesome as ****. There is a few PTK riffs and progressions scattered throughout, but whatev. A Fine Day to Die and the title track are different animals altogether.

Yeah, I love BFD, but I think Quorthon was def running out of ideas for raw black metal and not quite brave enough to go full Hammerheart yet, so he took some **** from thrash metal, even if his heart was going in a different place.

I'm only about half way through this album but god damn is this some raw ass ****ing ambient harsh noise atmo black metal. Weird combination but I think it works quite well.
