****ing amazing album, probably my favorite of Celtic Frost's even though it's not proto-black/thrash metal. I'm actually translating the lyrics of "Drown in Ashes" into the poetic style of Ovid for my Latin class

This song actually brought me to tears a couple days ago. Yeah, I know I'm cheesy, but...

"The metal crusade will conquer all
Our bonds will be stronger, see the infidels fall
Surrender your soul to the Gods of steel
In the blood of the fallen the enemies kneel"

*weeps*

Early 1970s heavy from one of the bands that did it best Budgie, these guys knew how to rock out. This song was once covered by Soundgarden.

Their first proper album was decent but generic death metal. Good for a head bang, but I can get the same thing from a hundred other bands. This song however, is just ****ing sick. Slow, doomy, and atmospheric as hell.

Old Vikings ya'll. One of the staples of the Louisville metal scene. Definitely has the Louisville metal sound... guttural vocals, crushing, mid-tempo riffs, sludginess that sometimes sounds mixed with grunge... yup, it's Louisville metal alright. Take a listen.

Plus, the video is crazy.
