hmm... i'm not sure boring would be the word i'd use.

Yeah, I would say that was probably the strongest track on the record. I just found it lacked anything of real substance that could grab my attention, and I got tired of most of the tracks around the 5 or 6 minute mark. I did like the cold, wintery sound they were going for though, it definitely succeeded in that aspect.

yes, exactly!!! i wanted to say that but i'm bad with words. the sound was great imo. that's what i enjoyed the most but as i said before... the fact that it was so repetitive kind of made it a weak album. but i am on the hunt for a great atmospheric black metal album and this one would get a 4/10 from me.

Unquestionable Presence isn't as heavy as I thought it would be.

Begin long religious discussion that derails thread.

You're into blackgaze too, right? I would definitely recommend Harakiri for the Sky and Bosse-de-Nage if you aren't familiar with them. They both have a really unique way of blending black metal with dense atmospheres and of course, incoporating influence from post-rock and post-metal. Entropia's latest
album Ufonaut might be worth a listen too if you're into the more psychedlic black metal stuff, and it has a similar cold, empty, vibe that Fuath deliver on their album as well.

Yeah, if Atheist had evolved more beyond thrash before they started experimenting with all the jazz, then I might like them more, but they've just never managed to grab me.

Anyways, you should check this **** out. They might be a good gateway band to more extreme music. Non-****ty metalcore that experimented with melodic death metal before it became a trend. They're Mondo-approved if that means anything to you.

Isn't their debut titled "The Whispered Lies of Angels?" I'm onto you, Batboy.

, I also played Symbolic yesterday.

So far as I know they have nothing to do with Satanism, and are no more or less potentially anti-Christian than any other hardcore or metal band. They're certainly not associated with a scene or genre that's anti-Christian. The angels may very well be a metaphor for society for all I know.

But fine, you big baby. Here's some Christian metal for you that is actually good.

I have mixed feelings about this song. The first two minutes are absolute perfection, but the last minute or so feels like a letdown. It gets alright in the end, but the song never really picks back up. But those first two minutes just get me in the "Need to punch somebody in the face" part of my soul.
