you should probably listen again if you think it's 100% blast beats

Pretty much. It just clicks (unintentional drummer pun?).

He is not amazing in the grand scheme of things, but he is amazing for that track.

this is still another, the more I listen to it... the more I love it. It took me a listen to get used to those crazy vocals... but I think it is one of the most unique albums ive come across;

Well, I'm not really a huge fan of pure Norwegian black metal in the first place, so it's not surprising that the quintessential Norsecore band doesn't click with me that hard. They've got their moments, like "Freezing Moon" and "Pagan Fears" which are ****ing awesome, but a lot of the rest just blurs together in one long boring blast.

Attila's vocals are pretty goofy too. Like, I get the atmosphere they're going for, but he kind of drags it down into B-rate horror movie territory, rather than being legitimately creepy.

I listened to Sad Wings Of Destiny in it's entirety today. It's been 20-30 years since I've done that, and it's funny what those years can do to the experience of it all. Still an amazing piece of history in the metal world. I'm on Hellbent now keeping the JP binge going.

^ Thoughts on the album? I listened to it a few weeks back and found it to be pretty boring overall.
