There's bands that just want to be as offensive and vile, as evil sounding as they can...and that sh*t just bores the hell out of me and often just gets me in fits of laughter. That's already been done, nothing original about it. Deicide has been doing it for a long time, but I also think that band is horrible and a joke. So I don't know Wpnfire. I can dig some of the music itself, some of it sounds cool...it's just, it comes off way too try hard whenever I hear it. If it isn't meant to be taken seriously, I guess I'm doing it right then.

Don't care if this makes me an elitist, but metal as a whole was never as amazing as it was in the eighties (yes, I know this was released in 1990). After that it was the preserve of artsy twats and meatheads who missed the 80s meathead boat.

^That album was released in 1990, though.

Yes, but it's still an 80s metal album. The release date is simply a technicality.

I think I'm gonna end up liking latter-day Fates Warning a lot more than early FW. This reminds me of the few songs/parts of songs that I actually like from Dream Theater, but actually interesting.

Fates Warning - "III" (from A Pleasant Shade of Gray)

Holy ****, this is even more intensely badass.
