I don't classify Bring Me The Horizon as a metalcore band these days. They started this big change their last album, Sempiternal, which I also liked a lot. Batty. I think you touched briefly on what you think of this band, but I have this curiosity about what you might think of their new album That's The Spirit. It's got all this awesome Pop goodness going on all throughout it, which I was surprised I liked as much as I did. I am not even joking, this is a fantastic album and I believe it has injected something fresh to metalcore in general or at least they have done what pretty much no band in the genre are ballsy enough to do, they still have little nods to the bands past on this album, even if it's not nearly as aggressive as past albums...just way f*cking better though.
This is a huge shot in the dark Batty. But check out Follow You from the new album, and if it has you intrigued about the rest of the album, I really highly recommend checking the entire thing out. There's zero heavy breakdowns on this album. It's entirely inventive or innovative to the genre they belong to, or belonged to. It's not without its flaws or faults though. Listening to the 25th Anniversary edition of Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?, and I haven't yet heard any of execrable vocal rerecordings of the original remasters (couldn't say about the instrumental rerecordings). The sound has been remastered as remasters should, however, and hits like an absolute ****ing truck.
I hope Dave takes the ****ing hint and throws the original remasters in the trash, where they belong (Killing Is My Business can live, since the only major change made that I could tell was censoring "These Boots" and moving it to the back of the album, but that was due to legal issues, so you can't really blame the band). I've avoided the remasters in general -- thankfully I burned the originals years before they were ruined -- and after hearing a song off the new version of Rust in Peace, I don't feel that I've been depriving myself in any way shape or form. Regardless, this is some cool-as-**** ****. (couldn't find the new version on Youtube)

Intellectually, I know San Francisco thrash eventually became a circle jerk of unoriginal bands competing to see who could sound the most like everyone else, but my heart just doesn't care.
Lääz Rockit weren't exactly top tier, and they have one of the worst band names in history, but they had some good ****. This is one of those crushing, mid-paced songs whose main purpose is to incite mosh pits, but I love those songs, and this **** just ****ing kills.

Parkway Drive - "Atlas"
Nothing that I'd place on the Mantle of Greatness, and I prefer clean vocals, but there's at least enough originality in the instrumental IMO that helps it stand out from some of the other material I'm coming across lately.

*resists the urge to post more Converge and Arkangel to educate aux-in on the awesomeness of "real" metalcore*

I will fully cop to a lack of metal knowledge as I'm more of a hard rock guy when it comes to this type of music. With that said, I'm doing what I can to scour my rock/metal Pandora for stuff I've never heard that I kind of sort of like, which as of late has been no easy task. Consider me posting a metal song at all as a gift, even if it isn't "real."
