That's a trip - I get burnt-out on a lot of my stuff and this past week have been on an old Bathory kick and been playing the hell out of that album. Speaking of Bathory, here's another one I've been listening to but off of the Octagon album - Quorthon covering Kiss

A hell of a lot better than I had expected. Am I getting into Black Metal or something?

How'd you end up listening to that? I love that album.

Recced for me for Metal Month III for the ABM feature. Grindy I think.

How could you possibly like that? The shrieks are the vocal equivalent of nails on a chalkboard.

I think the correct way to answer is "because it's sick"

I've learned over the last two years to look beyond vocals I don't like. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have been able to run the Viking Metal special last year, nor the Atmospheric Black Metal one this year. I don't like the screams, but I can discount them and listen to the music, and in the words of the mighty Batlord, that's pretty bitchin'!
