And I love cheesy vocals. There's nothing quite as refreshing as hearing something as obviously daft and poorly thought out as the kind of goofy vocals there. I like him because he is the exact opposite of being pretentious: he knows he isn't particularly smart yet he wants to sing anyway and is willing to make himself look silly.

And the little people were hilarious!
I don't think there's anything in that song that indicates he lack intelligence; there's no shortage of smart people who don't want to act like boorish nerds. I mean, christ, we're on a metal subforum here - say what you will about the members of Immortal or Rhapsody, but they're certainly not stupid, and they act far more silly and outlandish than a Canuck singing about soda.

Anyways:

A new band that many call Speed Metal; but I hear a distinct NWOBHM influence that goes beyond the simple retro-thrash sound. The NWOBHM sound goes beyond the vocals; the riffs remind me of Saxon & Tank.

Best of all, although clearly talented, the musicianship is constrained. They're not jacking off the necks of their guitars, and the drummer isn't kick ****ing anyone. And the result is coherent & FUN song.

There's something just emotionally horrific about Burzum. It doesn't sound evil, it just sounds completely nihilistic and self absorbed. Go figure.

You actually fight in battles while listening to metal?

For a guy who hates Motorhead, you've been listening to them quite a bit lately. Good to see.

i had a discussion with a fan on another forum

and out of curiousity, i got Ace of Spades

it seems that guy said the comp I got - No Remorse is pretty single-track, and this has been confirmed by a web reviewer, as it compiles songs which mostly sound the same

i heard AoS and there was definitely more "variety"

and so is Orgasmatron

so am a mild fan now

Nice! It's interesting to hear you say that actually because to me there's definitely less variety on Ace of Spades than on No Remorse—I still love both though. If you dig variety from Motorhead you might find 1916 worth your while as well. That's definitely the most varied album I've heard from them.

i find the riffs on No Remorse based on the same few chords - it's probably a "hit" formula

there's diversity in the riffs on AoS

sure, will check out 1916

Yes. The rules are, no shirt, no shoes, and only two guys to a fight, but the first rule of Metal Wars is you don't talk about Metal Wars...oops.

Blut Aus Nord - The Son of Hoarfrost

Words can not describe how much I love this band.
