I'll swear I've heard you say this before somewhere.
I made a similar "30 second" comment in regards to the Destroyer 666 song I posted.

I'm really, really opposed to these drawn out tracks, for which the only (supposed) pay off is the crescendo.

(edit) Whereas, songs such as these, which are instantly recognizable as great, are pretty essential if I'm going to bother with the rest of a bands discography.

Anyways, what am I listening to now?

Goofy lyrics, but the energy is great and the riffs aren't bad.

Well, both songs had their similarities!

And I love cheesy vocals. There's nothing quite as refreshing as hearing something as obviously daft and poorly thought out as the kind of goofy vocals there. I like him because he is the exact opposite of being pretentious: he knows he isn't particularly smart yet he wants to sing anyway and is willing to make himself look silly.

And the little people were hilarious!

You've just put that in the "What music are you listening to right now III" thread, haven't you?

Katharsis is the midpoint of the album, which tries to present itself as sort-of-power-metal-but-too-self-conscious-to-belong-to-that-genre, but it eventually gives way to growling with this song.

Dissapointing really. I thought they were on to something in the first half of that song, but in the second half it sounded very unimaginitive.

Oh god, at the end when the vocals start to fade, as if your speakers are blown, gives me chills.

Pretty kick ass instrumental from Prong's second album when they were still a crossover thrash metal band.
