Unfortunately there aren't any studio versions of any songs off Acid Bath's first album on Youtube, but When the Kite String Pops is seriously one of the best metal albums of all time.

I gave both of these an honest listen and oh god, I don't think I've displayed enough youthful arrogance towards power metal...









but Mondo's shown me this already...and it obliterates both those bands. If the following album is the only thing I had to listen to, I'd be okay with that.

Hella. Satan's Host has gone through a few stylistic shifts, but that album is their best imo. Have you listened to Bal-Sagoth or Stormlord?

I'm listening to Bal-Sagoth now, and they are okay. Stormlord is...very different than what I was expecting. They sound like Pantera mixed with symphonic music, with black metal and operatic vocals. Not sure I like that combination.

I just listened to that album today. Absolutely kickass.

So, I set aside my little dislike of Varg, and went to listen to a random album, or song rather. I picked a song from Filosofem. Turns out that I f*cking love how that song sounds at least, riff is pretty driving, lot of good rhythm going on. Probably some of the best black metal/doom metal I've heard.
