Here's some pretty listener-friendly metal with great vocalists who don't scream, maybe you'll dig it:

Not to mention...

Spoiler for Awesome Sauce:

Clean vocals are just as much a part of metal as screaming.

Old school heavy metal is almost completely devoid of screams and growls. I don't mean old music, I mean just the good old fashioned heavy metal thing. Stick around, we'll make a genre nerd out of you in no time. Maybe make a thread with songs you dig, you'll get plenty of personalized recommendations. MusicBanter regulars thrive on sharing our collections with others.

Alright, this is pretty good, I'll admit. God someone needs to go back in time and give Dark Angel a proper extreme metal vocalist.

**** that. I love their second singer. If Dark Angel had gone full death thrash they would have just been another extreme thrash band. Ron Rinehart's voice just made their last two albums so dark and nihilistic. Wouldn't trade him for a thousand Chris Barnes clones.

This might be the first thing you said I want no part of. I don't have a list of thrash singers I dislike, but if I did, Ron Rinehart would be at or near the top.
Doty >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Rinehart.
Rinehart is a good singer, he just does not blend well in a thrash band, and I totally disagree that a different (better) vocalist would do in Dark Angel. Well, maybe it would. DD gets repetitive, though that's less of an issue on Time Does Not Heal.

Early Dark Angel were great, but they were still an Exodus clone. But with Rinehart they were one of the most unique and brilliant thrash bands of all time, and the fact that they were basically an extreme thrash band with a clean singer is definitely one of the reasons for that.

I'm not sure I understand the Exodus clone description for Dark Angel. DD sounds nothing like Bonded in Blood. They came out at the same time.

They sounded plenty like Exodus, especially with their original singer. And Exodus may have only released their debut album in '85, but that's just cause of label issues, as the album had been ready for a year beforehand. They were actually playing the Bay Area even before Metallica, and pretty much influenced every band in the scene.
