look, if it sounded similar to hardcore punk, I'd be fine with it.

There's not really a lot of good comparisons to that song Batty, but this is the closest I could find that I like.
Spoiler for song:
I LOVE this:

Note that the guy just shouts loudly, he doesn't like distort his voice.

Well, by this point in their career, Napalm Death were basically still a hardcore band with death metal influences. They were grindcore, but punk as ****.

Of all the OG grind bands, Napalm Death has always been one of my least favorite, so I've never really listened to much of their second album (and only their first because I own it). Jesus Christ though, this **** is just a glorious blast of pure, intense noise and bitchin' riffs. And that drummer is a ****ing beast.

Alright, they're not really a metal band, but you listen to Madball for the same damn reason. The guitars are buried just a tad under the drums, but that rhythm section is a ****ing monster. I'm seriously now getting bummed that there aren't really any venues around here to get any bands more underground than Children of Bodom. I'd probably lose my mind at this show.

Straight-up, brutal NYHC with '80s melodic metal solos? Does not compute. Kicks ass. But doesn't compute.

Always room for one more power metal fan. We're a rare and elite breed on this site.

Sounding a bit too much like Hatebreed, but kicking ass doing it. Freddy Cricien is a much more engaging vocalist than Jaime Jasta too.

As much as I don't care for this kind of thing these days, Trivium can dish out some kick ass melodic metalcore when they want to. Matt Heafy's screaming is kind of crap, but his clean vocals, even when he's at the height of emo pussification, are surprisingly good. Just ignore the lyrics though.
