These guys have an interesting progressive thrash attack, but they still have that Bay Area viciousness that makes thrash so awesome.

Holy **** this album is really growing on me! I'm gonna have to thank that Pink Freud guy the next time I see him on the boards for mentioning them (sorry, I tend to remember avatars and not names).

"Pink Freud" guy. You said you forgot his name. And speaking of Jackhammer: Here's a bit of Agoraphobic Nosebleed:

OH! Cool. I could never remember his name cause his avatar was so cool. Whenever I think of him, instead of a name, I just picture the avatar cooly pontificating about music.

Oh, god, I love Exodus. And this album is ****ing brilliant. It's not only an awesome live album, but it basically gives us almost all of Bonded By Blood as it should be heard.

I certainly wouldn't say it was a "metalcore" phase as their is no trace of hardcore, post-hardcore, emo or any variation of that sort in their newer stuff. I've heard some label it alt metal but i tend to just use modern metal to describe it.

What about Come Clarity didn't you like?

it doesn't sound as punchy as Reroute to Remain (my fave by them) or as catchy

i heard it a few times and still don't remember much about any of the songs, nothing particularly noteworthy, whereas RTR hit me from the first note

Testament had some good albums, but none of them match their first. Just a straight up thrash attack up your ass!
