Good muddy. Grinds on my ears a bit, but that just adds to the experience, I guess.

Saw BastardofYoung talk about these guys before, and I figured I'd give em a shot. It's kinda cool, but then again these kind of eighties black/thrash bands can take a few listens to sink in, so I'm hopeful. They come from the same scene as Sarcofago and Sepultura after all.

Gallowbraid - Stone of Remembrance

It's one of my favourite Folk Metal songs.

I actually kind of like Avenged Sevenfold, and their guitarist can lay down some mean riffs, but their singer will forever stop me from truly digging them. Dude sucks.

And this is my first time listening to an actual album by them, and City of Evil is far too close to their melodic metalcore days. They seem to be on their way to a more hard rock/semi-trad metal sound, but they still sound too much like Killswitch Engage.

I saw them live (for free, friend was supposed to go with his friend, and she dropped out at last minute and he gave me the ticket) and I was actually impressed by them as a band, but I agree that the singer sucks. But as far as instrumental talent, they were one of the better ones to pop up.

I would not go out of my way to listen to them, but it was a good show.

Much better. There's no way this song wasn't written about an actual event. There's too much real emotion here to be fake. I always imagine it being about one of my friends and I always get choked up.

I dig Iced Earth, enough to have most of their albums in my collection plus concert dvd's.
