I must say, my Batlordian friend, that I would probably put Suffocation in my top five favorite death metal bands.

Indeed. I can't really think of much that has the same vicious intensity as early Suffocation. Pierced from Within is awesome, but the early stuff is just so raw and dense and brutal that it's sort of mindblowing.

My copy of Pierced from Within is totally fucked up, I should probably try to download it again. I love their later-era album Blood Oath personally.

Suffocation is awesome.

My favorite Death Metal song of all-time is "Depths of Depravity".

Have to vote Mike Smith as one of the best drummers in the style as well.
