I sort of stopped listening to CoB for a while, but I've rediscovered them recently. I love how they bring a unique sort of cock rock swagger to their brand of melodic death metal. It makes them bags of fun to listen to.

"Original" is not the word I would use to describe Severe Torture, but since, apart from a few bands like Suffocation and Cryptopsy, brutal death metal generally bores me the fact that I actually want to keep listening to this band after two songs makes them pretty awesome as far as I'm concerned.

Some surprisingly good modern day thrash. It's nothing new and the vocals aren't particularly great but the production on this album gives this a bite that most of these new bands don't have with their self-consciously old school sound. It helps that they know how to do Slayer/Exodus worship without being boring.

Edit: I just had to check to see if Exodus' Rob Dukes was their vocalist. He isn't.
