I wish I had been paying attention. No Melvins album is as good as When the Kite String Pops. Metal aside, that Acid bath album is one of my all time favorite albums ever made.
I have to agree. Although, I don't remember how I voted. For all I know I voted the other way.

Being a fan of Devin Townsend, I haven't heard Strapping Young Lad until now. What in the heck is wrong with me?!
This album has all kinds of nostalgia wrapped around it. Crazy how a song can get you remembering so much stuff.

That's so weird to me. I've got lots of nostalgia wrapped around So Far, So Good...So What? but I'm like 30 years older than you (you're seven, right?). I guess Megadeth is a truly cross-generational band - like the Rolling Stones or The Bee Gees. Weird.

It's amazing how many people got into metal with Megdaeth. They didn't get me into metal, but they did enable me to cross the bridge from normal metal into extreme metal. I think Dave Mustaine instead of whining on about Metallica, should properly look at the exploits and influence on his own band on modern metal.

I'm 20, so it's a little before my time, but they were one of the "Three M's" that really got me into metal. Megadeth, Metallica, and Motorhead. Unlike a lot of kids my age, I never had a dreaded "nu metal phase."

I don't think that Mustaine is really concerned about Metallica any more... hell, they're touring and playing together now, and seem to be on friendly terms.
And interestingly, while they helped you get into extreme metal, they helped me get into punk. Once I got past Dave's "singing," I really started looking into his influences... like, for instance, the Sex Pistols. That led me to buying London Calling. The rest is history.

I decided to try to get into black metal today, so I'm listeneing to Paysage d'Hiver's self-titled album at the moment.
There's actually some really good moments on here, but the production is really ****ty. I think that I started listening to black metal with the wrong album. :/

I'm not much of a LOG fan these days, but their first two albums are still classics. Burn the Priest may not be as accomplished as New American Gospel, but it makes up for it by being absolutely vicious. Randy sounds absolutely possessed on this album, and the band still have that innate instinct for creating that moment of pure headbanging glory that makes you throw the horns and bang your head right off your shoulders. This song right here is probably my all time fav LOG song. Just a riff extravaganza right here.

Hey, I'm twenty-six and that album has plenty of nostalgia for me too. I listened to that album so many times in my teens that it's pretty much imprinted on my DNA. "Liar", "Set the World Afire", "Mary Jane", "In My Darkest Hour", that album has so much good **** on it that I don't know why people give it ****. OK, so "502" kinda sucks, but one song of filler doesn't make a bad album.

Didn't much like Meshuggah the first time I ever listened to them, but for the past hour they have been seriously growing on me.

What a cool ****ing band. Apparently they combine grindcore and noise rock. Whatever you wanna call 'em, they kick some major ass. And that intro is hilarious.
